Lyonia Preserve — 360 Acres in the City's Backyard Right inside Deltona's own boundaries sits Lyonia Preserve — 360 acres of Florida scrub habitat protecting more than 120 animal species, including the endangered Florida scrub-jay and the gopher tortoise. The attached Lyonia Environmental Center offers free family programs, and the 1,000-seat Deltona Amphitheater hosts concerts and community events year-round. It's the kind of natural asset most cities would build around. Deltona already did.

3. Lake Monroe and the St. Johns River Deltona sits on the northern shore of Lake Monroe, one of the largest lakes in Central Florida and part of the broader St. Johns River system.
